Ingredients for Making Pumpkin Pie

Making pumpkin pie:

Step 1: prepare the pumpkin.

First of all, preheat the oven up to 180 degrees Celsius and cover with a heat-resistant or non-stick baking dish with a sheet of baking paper. Then we take a piece of pumpkin without seeds, rinse it under a stream of cold running water and dry it with paper towels from excess moisture. Then, using a sharp kitchen knife, cut off the skin from the vegetable and chop its pulp on a medium grater directly into a small bowl.

Step 2: prepare the lemon.

Then we also wash and dry the lemon. Using a fine grater, remove it from the bowl a tablespoon of zest and squeeze into a measuring cup 50 milliliters of citrus juice.

Step 3: prepare the dough.

After that, put in the deep bowl the right amount of butter, granulated sugar and grind these products to a homogeneous consistency with a wooden kitchen spoon.

Then we add eggs with lemon zest to them and beat thoroughly with a mixer at high speed. We give this process approximately 4-5 minutes. After some time, add baking soda, slaked with lemon juice, to the same bowl, sift the wheat flour through a sieve with a fine mesh and send the chopped pumpkin flesh there.

Repeatedly mix everything with a spoon until a homogeneous consistency and put the resulting dough in a baking dish.

Step 4: bake a pumpkin pie.

We send the still raw dessert to the preheated oven and leave it on it 30-40 minutes. Check the readiness of the cake with a wooden skewer. Insert its end into the flesh of baking and get it. If the stick is wet - bake it, if it's dry - we put on kitchen handpads and rearrange the form on a cutting board, previously laid on the kitchen table.

We allow our product to cool to room temperature, transfer to a large flat dish, then decorate if desired, cut into portions and taste forwards!

Step 5: serve the pumpkin pie.

After cooking, the pumpkin pie is cooled, decorated with icing sugar, poured with chocolate, smeared with cream or soaked on its surface with honey or fruit or berry syrup.

- very often a couple of cinnamon or a bag of vanilla sugar are added to the dough for aroma. You can also put chopped nuts, dried fruits and one grated apple there;

Is the pumpkin too juicy? Then after grinding it should be squeezed from excess liquid, otherwise the cake will turn out to be very wet;

- Instead of lemon, you can use an orange.
