- Oranges (medium size) 7 pieces
- Sugar 650 grams
- Bitter Chocolate 250 grams
- Water 300 milliliters (+ for the first cooking orange)
- Main Ingredients: Orange, Cocoa and Chocolate
- Portion 7-8
Saucepan, kitchen knife, trellised baking sheet, parchment for baking, slotted spoon, plate, colander.
Cooking orange in chocolate:
Step 1: chop the oranges.
Dense oranges, with pulp without holes. The core should not be hollow.
Rinse the fruits well with a brush and dry them.
Cut oranges into thin slices 0.5 - 0.7 centimeters in thickness. Seeds, naturally, carefully take out.
Step 2: boil the oranges in syrup.
Pour into a pan about 2-3 liters water and bring it to a boil. Throw slices of orange into boiling water and cook for 5 minutes. This will allow us to get rid of excessive bitterness.
Throw oranges in a colander to drain excess water. Press them on top with a slotted spoon to slightly squeeze.
From sugar and pure water (300 milliliters) boil the syrup, bringing it to a boil.
Pour slices of oranges into the syrup and wait until the syrup boils.
Make the fire slow and cook the slices of oranges for about 2 hours or until they become transparent, like glass.
Step 3: dry the oranges.
Transfer the caramel oranges to the wire rack and send them to the preheated 120 degrees oven on 30 minutes. Across 15 minutes slices of fruit will need to be turned and continue to dry them already on the other side.
Let the candied fruit cool.
Step 4: Dip the oranges in the chocolate.
Melt the chocolate in a steam bath or in the microwave, as they used to, and then use a spoon to cover it with orange slices on one side.
Put the resulting sweets on baking paper and wait until the chocolate hardens on them.
Step 5: Serve the orange in chocolate.
Chocolate orange - a wonderful New Year or Christmas treat. Both adults and children are delighted with it! Be sure to try and make such a sweet yourself.
Enjoy your meal!
- Keep the “Orange in Chocolate” sweetness in a well-closed container (jar or container) in a cool place.
